We cannot urge too frequently, or too strongly the necessity of every member of the university doing what he can for the Co-operative Society. While it is undoubtedly a duty for every member to aid this society as far as possible, the obligation which rests upon non-members is certainly a much greater one. These men are the persons who should now step forward and accept the opportunity offered by the society for membership at reduced rates. Only $1.50 for the rest of the year. It is true, perhaps, that just at the present time, the usefulness of the society is not very great, not as great as it has been, not as great as it will be. That the opportunities of usefulness in the future will increase, the record of the society in the past will establish beyond a doubt. With the opening of the spring, the Co-operative will be able to do more for its members than it can at the present time. In the single item of tennis goods, much more than the $1.50 can easily be saved. Many, indeed, save this sum on the purchase of tennis balls alone.

It will not do to wait till spring, and then join. If this be attempted, the grass upon the grave of this once flourishing society will be as green as the most verdant freshman in the freshwater colleges of Ohio. Now is the time, now is the opportunity, and now, we are sure, are plenty of men ready and willing to put their shoulders to the wheel and help the society out of the mire in which a too sanguine management has placed it.
