We would say, for the benefit of our correspondent yesterday, who felt compelled to protest against a statement made in our recent article on "Athletics at Athens," that reliance cannot always be placed on the athletic records of Herodotus. We are unable, at present, to deny the accuracy of the particular record, but, being unable to find it credited in the "Clipper Almanac," we are not disposed to insist upon its acceptance.
