The following letter explains itself: CAMBRIDGE, Feb. 16, 1885.
TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY: Gentlemen.- The subscription, together with the membership fee, for the benefit of the society amounts to $551.50. In accordance with the vote passed at the general meeting Feb. 2d, the directors have decided that the work of the society shall continue without interruption.
Although the condition of my proposed guarantee has not been fully complied with, I am still ready to assure the society at the end of the fiscal year, in June next, a surplus of assets over liabilities of at least $550.00 with liabilities not exceeding $250.00.
Respectfully yours, J. B. AMES, President.
