It is with some surprise that we read an item in a Columbia paper, stating that the '87 crew of that college has not as yet been presented with the stand of colors won in the freshman race from our own '87 crew, last spring. To be sure, we cannot deprive Columbia of the freshman championship which she won so fairly at New London, but Columbia naturally desires to have in her possession the trophy which is to commemorate her triumph. We would call the attention of the proper authorities to this failure to fulfil the obligations of the '87 crew, in the hope that the error may at once be rectified.
