The marks are already out in a large number of courses. This is unexpected promptness.

Marks in Philosophy 1 were given out yesterday. The average mark reached was very high.

The next Thesis in Philosophy 4 will be due Thursday, Feb. 26, the subject being Mill's Liberty.

The attention of the '86 men is called to the notice of the Junior class meeting to be held to-night.

President Eliot has been elected President of the Boston Athenaeum for the ensuing year.

Mr. G. A. Hopkins has been chosen captain of '88's tug-of-war team, and will form a team at once.

Mr. Walter Soren '83, the celebrated jumper and athlete was at the gymnasium, Tuesday afternoon.

Tug-of-war practice has now begun in earnest. Easton, L. S., has been coaching the freshman captain in anchoring.

Four new men have entered the Veterinary School since the opening of the college year. There are now 25 men in that department.

At Yale the championship colors won by the college, are used as decorations for the hall in which the "Junior Promenades" are held.
