Tuesday a petition to the faculty of the Law School was hastily written and signed by several members of the school. The petition requests that a departure shall be made from established custom and a mid-year examination be given in Criminal Law. The course is finished just before the midyears, and there appears to be no good reason why an examination should not then be given instead of putting the matter off till June. The only objections that can be brought in opposition to the plan are the additional labor incurred by the examiner, and lack of precedent. Although not half the men in the course had a chance to sign on account of the haste with which the petition was put through, it is affirmed that all heartily support the plan. It is certainly to be hoped that the faculty will decide to grant what seems like a very reasonable request.
