The executive committee of the Harvard Union is to be congratulated upon "the choice of subject for debate this evening. The Chinese question is a question of vital interest to every American citizen. It is one of the foremost issues of the day, and demands the earnest consideration of every student of political economy. It is a subject of discussion to-day throughout the country, and finds a place in the platform of every political party. Every student should interest himself in the debate, and make it the means of studying one of the most trying questions of the day. A large attendance is anticipated, and the debate promises to be one of the most interesting of the year.
