We are grieved to hear that the continued ill-health of Dr. Kuno Francke will not allow him to resume the direction of his courses at present. By the advice of his physician he is obliged to take a complete rest from work for several months. Two of the courses in which he has been so laborious and successful an instructor, may, perhaps, he omitted until his return. In his other courses some person will soon be appointed to take his place during his absence. The German department is greatly crippled by the temporary loss. Dr. Francke will be attended during his absence by the best wishes of his many friends among both faculty and students, and by the sincere hopes of all that he will return in the best of health.
