Fifty men were at Mr. Keyes room last evening to apply for the '89 crew.

The inter-collegiate tennis tournament begins at New Haven on Thursday.

There promise to be at least three vacancies to be filled in the sophomore crew this year.

The fare on the Charles River cars from Harvard Square to Boston has been reduced to 4 cents.

The election of officers of joint Pierian and Glee Clubs resulted as follows: G. A. Morrison, '87, president; E. R. Shippen, '87, vice-president and treasurer; J. Loeb, '88, secretary.

The election of student delegates to the college conference will probably take place on Friday of this week.

An effort is being made at Dartmouth to secure Moody, the Evangelist, for a series of revival meetings.

A make-up examination in Mr. Briggs' course in rhetoric will be given this afternoon at 2 o'clock in Sever 5.

The meeting of captains of the class foot-ball elevens, announced for last evening, has been postponed until this evening.

The senior class meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, Oct. 20th. The rules governing the election of class day officers will be published tomorrow.

The Lampoon will appear Friday The proof sheets of the drawings promise an interesting copy. Eighty-eight especially will find food for reflection in its pages.

The following men announced their intention of trying for the '89 nine last evening: Bingham, Young, Henshaw, Trafford, Clark, Downer, Kimball, Hurley, Shattuck, Weaver, Heaton, Pervere, McPherson, Painter, Vorse, Talbot, Austin, Cabot. There are five candidates for the battery, ten for the infield, and three for the outfield.

A meeting of the Canoe Club was held Monday evening in 28 Weld. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: commodore, Frank I. Proctor, '87; sec'y-treas., Frank H. Sellers, L. S. S. measurer, A. G. Webster, R. G.; executive committee, F. I. Proctor, '87, Theodore Dunham, M. S., E. K. Dunham, M. S. Mr. H. M. Meekers, '89, was elected a member. The fall regatta, to consist of sailing and paddling races, will be held on the Charles River Course, Saturday, Oct. 24. at 10.30 a.m.
