The society of Collegiate Alumnae recently held its annual meeting at the Vendome, in Boston.

Columbia has an endowment of $6,350,000, and Harvard one of $4,500,000 and still they both cry loudly for more.

To-night the first of the series of lectures on the protective tariff will be given by Prof. Thompson, in Sever 11.

The faculty at the meeting this evening will take action upon the foot ball question.

Hockey flourishes at St. Pauls school. Some matches have been played already, and there are several regular Hockey elevens.

Over $70.000 for the new chapel at St. Paul's School has been raised. The plans call for $75.000 for the building, and $25.000 for endowment.

During the vacation, the store of Mr. Marshea, under Hilton House, was entered by burglars, who secured $300 worth of plunder.

The alarm of fire from Box 64, yesterday morning, was for a fire in a shed at the Botanical Garden on Linnaean St. Little damage was done.

On Saturday evening there was a slight fire in the house on Frisbie place, occupied by Chas. W. Sever of the University Book Store, and owned by the college.

Hon. Thos. A. Hendricks of Indiana, Vice-President elect, has consented to deliver the annual address before the Yale alumni and graduating classes at commencement, June 23, 1885.

The business done by the co-operative society at the University of Michigan, which was only started in October, amounted to about $2.500 for the first term.

The Exeter Academy foot ball eleven which defeated our 188 freshman team averaged in weight 166 lbs., while the Andover men, who beat them, but succumbed to '88, averaged only 153.

The female students of this country, not to be outdone by their male contemporaries, have formed an association. This association held a meeting last week.
