Peterhouse College, the oldest of the seventeen colleges in Cambridge University, England, has just celebrated the six hundredth anniversary of its founding. It was founded in the reign of King Edward I.

The Princeton Glee Club this year is said to be one of the best the college ever had. During the spring vacation the club will make a Western trip, visiting Louisville, Chicago, St. Louis, and several other cities.

The following notice was recently read to the Amherst seniors at the opening exercise of the term: "Butler's Analogy at four P. M. -The Prize for the best essay on the Existence of God, has been increased to fifty dollars!"

Prof. Goodale was unable to meet the section in N. H. 5 yesterday to answer questions, being suddenly called away by the sickness of his mother. An opportunity will be given, however for those in his sections who wish to consult with him about the examinations.

The first annual gymnastic competitions for the amateur championships of America, will be held under the auspices of the American Athletic Club, at Tammany Hall, New York City, February 19, commencing at 8 P. M. The following events will be open to all amateurs: Horizontal bar, parallel bars, flying rings, and club swinging. A handsome gold championship medal will be awarded to the winner, and a silver medal to the second, in each event.
