An editorial in the New Haven Register spoke of Harvard's feeling proud of being ahead of Yale in one thing at least, namely, having more Smiths in college than Yale.

The next Mathematical Seminar will be held on Thursday, at 4 P. M., in U. 19. Mr. Haskell will deliver another lecture on "The theory of Numbers," and various problems will be discussed.

The Manhattan Chess Club of New York has offered the use of its rooms for an intercollegiate chess tournament between Harvard and Yale this Easter vacation, if it can be arranged.-[News.

Among the "first-nighters" at the opening performance of the Bijou's latest operetta, "Prince Methusalem," were many Harvard men, who seemed to enjoy greatly the many bright passages in the play.

Members of '87 who last year took freshman German under Professor Lutz may be interested to know that "Der Zerbrochen Krug" has been adopted as a text-book for the use of the Yale juniors.

The energies of the Yale Polo Club seemed to have relapsed into a dormant condition. If Harvard is to be vanquished this season it is time for them to shake off their lethargy.-[Yale Record.
