The number of "Characters" in the first year class of the Law School is remarkably large.

A prominent New York athletic club held a ten mile hare and hounds run over the snow, on Christmas day.

The sixth theme in English 12 will be due on Monday, Jan. 19, and will be criticised by the students as part of the examination.

The new Veterinary department of the University of Pennsylvania is now in working order, and promises to add much to the University's success.

Mr. H. C. Nash, '84, has lately performed some excellent work with the rifle. His score of a 48 out of a possible 50, made last week, is worthy of notice.

There will be an optional hour examination in Greek 2, a week from to-day. The work will consist of a passage from Thucydides, and some verses from the "Birds" of Aristophanes.

Wilberforce University, Ohio, has recently equipped a troupe of singers, accompanied by an elocutionist of rare abilities. They are about to start on a tour in the interest of the University.

Prof. Shaler has invited the students in N. H. 4 to attend the Seminar meetings held in room 2 of the Museum. The first will be held Thursday, Jan. 15.

It is probable that there will be no more laboratory work in N. H. 3 until after the semi-annuals. since the afternoons in January are apt to be to dark.
