As will be seen from the list of editors which we publish to-day, the present board numbers but nine regular members, which is altogether too small a number to run a daily paper as successfully as we wish. The senior board is well represented in numbers, but the junior and sophomore boards contain vacancies which should be filled as soon as possible. As is well known the position of editor is open to any one who may desire to write for the paper and is decided by open competition,-the best man for the place. Unlike many college papers, our elections are not held at any steted periods. but whenever in our judgment a candidate has shown by his contributions sufficient ability and enterprise to become an editor. To be a success-and it is certainly the interest of the college that the daily paper at Harvard should be a success-the CRIMSON must have representatives on its board from every set of men in college. In this way alone can every side of college life be fairly represented. We earnestly hope therefore that all students who have any taste for journalism or who desire to aid the college papers as far as they can, will send us in such articles as they may consider of interest to college men. If the college treats us as we anticipate we shall have no difficulty in filling our editorial board in a manner satisfactory to ourselves and to the college.
