Nettleton hit safely to centre field and Weeks started home, but Nichols made a superb throw from centre field right into Allen's hands, who touched him just before he reached the plate, and ended the game with the score 6 to 1 in Harvard's favor.

With the exception of their catcher and shortstop Dartmouth played almost a perfect game in the field. Springfield and Fellows disting guished themselves, the former putting out five men in centre field. They did not bat as heavily as Harvard, but were much more lucky in placing their hits. G. Nettleton, however, did just what he wanted to with the ball and Hale and Weeks did well.

Harvard played a very sharp game in the field. Allen's catching was perfection and WInslow's pitching was very fine, while Nichols and Smith both played finely.
