Several members of the club availed themselves of the pleasant morning, Saturday, to secure a little extra practice at Watertown. The chief event was a match between W. H. Slocum and H. W. Abbot. Each shot at 50 glass balls, and, after a well contested match, Mr. Slocum won the event. The shooting in this match was very good. Slocum broke 24 out of the last 25 balls, while Abbot broke 22. The score finally stood 43 to 36 in Slocum's favor. After this match, there was a competition between F. B. Austin and W. L. Allen. This match was extremely close and exciting. Both men shot at 50 clay birds, and Austin barely won, the score being 35 to 34.
At Walnut Hill a few members of the club shot over the 200-yard range. The weather conditions, however, were far from favorable, the high wind keeping down the scores. Mr. Foster won the honors with the rifle, his score being very creditable, under the conditions. The following scores were made :
C. C. Foster. S. S., [5 5 5 5 4 4 4 4 5 4-45]
