It is said that the Yale crew has improved very rapidly in the past few weeks.
Mr. Cook, the veteran Yale oarsman, and Mr. Hull, captain of last year's Yale crew, visited the boat-house yesterday.
The results of yesterday's league games were as follows: Boston 7, Philadelphia 6; New York 10. Providence 8, Cleveland 8, Buffalo 0.
The shoot announced for yesterday afternoon, at Watertown has been postponed, It has not been decided when the meet will be held.
Mr. G. R. Nutter has been elected Kr. of the next theatricals of the Hasty Pudding in place of Mr. E. L. Thayer, who was obliged to resign on account of other duties.
The nine plays Williams today on Jarvis. Although Amherst recently defeated Williams the game will probably be interesting and will afford an opportunity to observe the improvement of our nine over their last games in Cambridge.

Mr. Smith will probably be able to fill his position on first base in about a week.
Today's game will be called at 3 o'clock, by special permission of the faculty.
38 men have already signed to accompany the freshman nine to New Haven.
Yale and Princeton play their first game this afternoon in New York.
There is every reason to expect that the game with Williams this afternoon will be close and exciting. While Williams was beaten by Amherst in a recent game by the score of 9 to 2, the game was in the hands of the former until the 9th inning. At the end of the 8th the score stood Williams 2, Amherst 1.
