The Yale News, in condescending to notice our editorial in reference to President Eliot's remarks on the subject of base-ball, asks us "to reconcile the president's position with the attitude assumed by the Harvard committee in withdrawing from the conference in the way that they did." It may be due to our lack of sympathetic appreciation of the true in wardness of the thoughts that flit through the brain of the average Yale editor, but we don't know what the News is talking about, and await with great patience a more lucid statement of the difficulty.
