EDITORS HERALD-CRIMSON-After nearly every especially rainy day we see complaints of the dreadful condition of the stone walks in the yard. The croakers seem never to be weary of expatiating on the enexhaustible theme which furnishes material for numberless communications and editorials in the different college papers. Yet all this agitation is of no avail. In times of deluge like that of Monday the stone walk still remains below the surface of the water, and during every rain its hollows still collect puddles of water into which the unwary student plunges. The only remedy for this evil is to raise the flagstones a few inches and to give them a very slight slope so that the water may run off and not collect on the uneven surfaces. But to accomplish this money is required, and presumably the ever low condition of the college funds would not warrant such an outlay. therefore, I propose that a subscription paper be started by those who find the present state of the walks so deplorable that they can not restrain their complaints, and that these persons head the paper with the amounts which they have paid for doctor's bills in consequence of colds and pneumonia contracted while wading through the floods. Then, at last, we may hope to hear no more complaints on the subject.
