Rev. Edward Everett Hale is engaged in co-operation with his son, a recent graduate, on an historical sketch of Benjamin Franklin's life in Paris during the Revolution. The work was suggested by the purchase by our government of the Franklin papers. That immense collection is understood to throw very curious sidelights on the history of the great negotiations in which Franklin was engaged. Mr. Hale will make full use of these new treasures.
