The Athletic association and the general body of students may congratulate themselves on the last move of the authorities in regard to athletics. After our being without any trainer for two years, and being in a state of suspense all that time as to the probability of ever getting such a man, the authorities have at last selected a gentleman to oversee and aid the men training for the games and contests of the H. A. A. As far as we can learn at present Mr. Lathrop's duties are to be confined to the so-called track athletics and, perhaps, some gymnasium work.

the students can congratulate themselves not only because a man has been appointed, but because such a good man has been appointed. It is hard work to find a good man to fill such a place, but, we think that the corporation would have hard work to find a better man than the present appointee.
