Bail has been fixed at $10,000 in each of the two remaining star route cases against Gen. Brady.

The war in Madagascar is virtually at an end, all the principal cities and towns of the island being in possession of the French.

In the New Hampshire senate and house yesterday voting was begun for a United States senator to succeed Senator Rollins. There was no choice, and voting will be resumed today.

It now appears that the summary removal of the four internal revenue officials on Monday, occasioned much surprise at the White House yesterday, the President having had only an intimation of the commissioner's purpose. A consultation was had on the subject between the President and commissioner yesterday afternoon.
