The editorial in the current Advocate on the subject of the appointment of steward of the Dining Association seems to us to be quite premature. It is ridiculous to find fault with the management because a vacancy of only a month's standing has not been already filled. The position of steward is a responsible and important one and as such can not be filled at a moment's notice. We understand that there have been numerous applicants for the position, whose credentials and recommendation must be thoroughly examined before an appointment is made. It has taken several years to get the present steward out, and it is fitting therefore that we should be careful in the appointment of his successor to see that we shall not be compelled to commence the old fight over again to remove an incompetent man. We feel sure that the appointment will be made as soon as a thoroughly competent man can be found.
