"The trouble with the Harvard nines for the past three years," says the Cambridge correspondent of the Athlete, "has been that there have been too few candidates to pick from. Although these have been good players, there has not been nearly so much personal interest in the nine as there otherwise would have been, and the men have not been driven by competition to do their best at all times."
