If we make a liberal allowance for every possible delay, it still seems as though the corporation were greatly at fault for not furnishing the window staples promised so long ago. It is true that there has been recently no appalling calamity or loss of life from fire to arouse the popular feeling in regard to the danger of fire in the college buildings, but it is not necessary for the corporation to wait for some such stimulus to compel them to fulfil their promise. We were told that the staples would be ready soon after the recess, and it would seem as though sufficient time had elapsed for the production of these articles which cannot take either much time or money for their manufacture.
