Freshman advanced sections in Latin will probably begin Plautus with Professor Lane next week.

The senior class games at Yale take place tomorrow forenoon, and the Harvard-Yale ball game in the afternoon.

Hare and hounds runs are becoming very popular at Yale, two or three a week being usually held.

Dr. J. T. G. Nichols delivers the second lecture on "Various Emergencies" in Sanders Theatre this afternoon.

Prof. William James is to deliver a course of lectures on psychology before the Concord School of Philosophy next summer.

There will be a game of cricket next Saturday between the Harvard and Longwood cricket teams, on the grounds of the latter.

Professor Cook's advanced sections in Freshman German will be examined on all that they have read since Christmas, except the reader.

On account of the races yesterday the third and fourth senior forensics will be returned this afternoon between three and four o'clock in Sever 1.

The class race as seen from the top of the Union boat-house was one of considerable interest. A good deal of quiet excitement was manifested as the boats came down the course, but though there was no surprise evinced at '83's winning, there was some astonishment at '86's coming in last.

Paper for the "fair copy" of commencement parts which is to be left at the office may now be procured on application to Miss Harris, at the office.

The sophomores supported their crew in the race by chartering a tug and following the crew and cheering heartily and continuously throughout the whole race.

The 9 A. M. express train from Boston on the B. & A. R. R. will get to New Haven in time for the game tomorrow. Return from New Haven at 6.28 P. M. arriving in Boston at 10.42 P. M.

There will be a one-hour examination in Spanish I. on Wednesday, May 16th, in Sever 35, instead of the stated recitation of that day. The subject of the examination will be the Grammar (Verbs) and no text or blank books need be brought in.

Dr. Sargent wishes all members of the senior class who have been once examined physically to make appointments for another examination before June 1. As '83 is the first class with which comparisons of developments between the freshman and senior year can be made, it is important that there should be a complete examination.

An audience which completely filled the Sanders Theatre was present last evening to hear the readings for the Boylston prizes. The names of the successful contestants were announced from the stage and are as follows: 1st prizes, F. L. Sawyer, '83; G. B. Morrison, '83. 2d prizes, W. H. Page, '83; E. B. Jack, '84; G. R. Agassiz, '84.
