Other colleges value the inter-collegiate cup as highly as they do any other prize to be won in the athletic arena. But at Yale there has in the past been an unfortunate feeling that this championship could add but little to the laurels won in other branches of athletics. The natural consequence of this feeling has been that the half-hearted efforts put forth to take a respectable position at the inter-collegiate games have invariably met with the humiliating defeat which they deserved. Now, however, that the college is fully alive to the importance of making a determined effort to win we have every reason to hope that the time will soon come when our rivals in other fields will find that Yale can hold her own in this also.
