At a meeting of the trustees of Columbia College, last week, in New York, the project was discussed of appealing to the citizens of New York and of the country at large for aid to enable them to convert the college into a metropolitan university, where students who are now compelled to go to European universities can obtain thorough instruction in the higher branches of learning.
