"It seems to me that such doggerel has no place outside of a valentine, or, perhaps, a college paper," writes a correspondent of a Boston paper of the poem sent to the Harvard Club of New York by W. W. Story, the artist. The first verse of the song, with the refrain, by the way, is as follows :
"Here's a health to the boys, wheresoever they be,
Of all generations and every degree,
Whom the dear Alma Mater once held in her arms,
Who have lived at her side and remember her charms.
"Then to Harvard, dear Harvard, and all, far and near,
Of her children who love her a health and a cheer."
