Mr. Paul Tulane, of Princeton, N. J., now stands ready to increase largely his immense gift to the city of New Orleans for educational purposes, provided the property he has already given be made entirely exempt from taxation. He is said to have set apart $239,000 in stocks and bonds, to be handed over to the city as soon as such exemption shall be secured, giving the city meanwhile, however, the dividends declared upon the securities, amounting to about $16,000 per annum.
