EDITORS HARVARD HERALD: As the proposed "Elevated Railway" has at present progressed no further than a small petition, and is still one of the blessed things of the hereafter, we think some relief ought to be afforded by the "Cambridge Railroad Company" in regard to the number of cars used late in the evening.

Very frequently the twelve o'clock car from Bowdoin square carries out two or three times the quantity of passengers that it can decently accommodate. When one does not wish to remain half an hour in the open air waiting for another car, it is unpleasant, to say the least, to be compelled to stand upon a small portion of a car-step (especially on a cold, windy night,) during nearly the entire trip. It is more than unpleasant; it is positively an injustice, if the company has at all in view the comfort of its passengers, - a matter which seems to admit of doubt. Now, why cannot two cars leave Boston at the same time, instead of one as at present? We think that even then they would be uncomfortable, - they always are, - but, nevertheless, it would be a great improvement, and one welcomed by every one who is compelled to come out at that time.
