As the Beacon nine will probably play more games than usual with the Harvard nine next spring, a few words in regard to their prospects may be of interest. The nine will play more regularly together this year than ever before, and will probably be made up as follows; Folsom, p.; Richardson, c.; Sawyer, 1b.; Badger, 2b.; Welch, 3b.; Moore, s. s.; Merrill, l. f.; Hall, c. f.; Mansfield, r. f. It will be noticed that though the nine loses Thayer and Latham, it gains new elements of strength in Folsom and Hall, and these, together with the old members who hold over, will no doubt give us some exhibitions of play next year which will be well worth watching. That the nine means business is shown by the fact that they have engaged for practice the New England Institute Building, where they can play with nearly as much freedom as in the open air. The first game has been arranged for April 21 with Brown.
