The Senior Debating Club at Yale has been discussing the political situation. At a meeting held two weeks ago it was decided by a large majority, we regret to report, that the Republican party has outlived its usefulness. Last week the presidential question was discussed, and it is reported that this meeting also was overwhelmingly Democratic in its sympathies, and the Republican party was passed over in scornful silence. This news cannot fail to cast a gloom over the entire community.
