The coming meeting of the Inter-Collegiate Base-Ball Association will be one of especial importance, as on its decision will depend the longer continuance of the association in its present shape. A new aspect is put upon affairs by the announcement that Amherst will under no circumstances remain in the association after the present year. Whether this will have any influence on the action of the convention remains to be seen. It looks now as if it would make Dartmouth's hold on her present position even more uncertain than at present, for now that Amherst is no longer to be taken into consideration, there are fewer reasons for the continuance of Dartmouth in the league. Any change that may be made by the convention in the constitution of the league will probably not go into effect this year, as in that case injustice might be done to those who have kept in practice all through the winter with the expectation of playing in the spring. It certainly looks, however, as if the present would be the last year of the existence of the Inter-Collegiate Base-Ball Association as at present constituted.
