The Cooperative Society has shown commendable activity in preparing for the holiday season. Besides the usual stock which the society always carries, a large number of articles especially suited to the Christmas trade have been laid in and a visit of inspection will be of interest to all,-members and outsiders. Besides an assortment of toilet and fancy articles, there is a good selection of Christmas cards, calendars and the like, and a full line of stationery supplies. It must be remembered that as this stock will only be kept till the latter part of next week, members should at once make their purchases. The Cooperative is peculiarly fitted to be a medium for the purchase of Christmas presents, in that books of all kinds may be procured at a great reduction through its agency. We earnestly advise all to take advantage of the Society's enterprise and make as many of their holiday purchases as possible through it. It will pay many who are not now members of the society to join and take advantage of its rates, for the cost of membership is frequently covered in two or three purchases. The management of the Cooperative certainly deserve the thanks of the members for the energetic and practical way in which they carry on the business, and it is only fair that these should show their appreciation by giving it, when possible, their patronage.
