At the meeting of the Board of Directors held last Thursday, it was voted that it is decidedly objectionable to have umbrellas taken into the Hall. It is understood by the Board that there is a risk in leaving umbrellas in the transept, uncared for, and it is their desire to provide some suitable means for the safe keeping of the umbrellas of those members of the association who do not wish to risk their umbrellas unwatched. The four stands owned by the association at present, can only hold together about 150 umbrellas, and it was voted to have two new stands made, that would hold about 250 umbrellas. These two new stands, and more if needed, are to be placed in the auditor's room and a boy hired at a cost of fifty cents each time, to check the umbrellas. The holes in the stands will be numbered, and the one leaving his umbrella will receive a check corresponding to the number of the hole in which his umbrella is placed.

This will be the simplest method of checking and no delay is anticipated in the delivery of umbrellas by this means of checking. This is to be tried first, merely as an experiment, and if it is found to be successful, will be continued. The Board desire the co-operation of the members in giving it a fair trial, and request all umbrellas to be left, either in the stands outside, or checked in the auditor's room, after the announcement is made, that the checking system is ready.
