The subjects for the Cobden Club medal are : 1. "The Financial Policy of the United States Concerning the Present Surplus of Revenue." 2. "The Effect of a Customs Tariff on Wages." 3. "The Effect of the Public Lands of the United States on the Growth of our National Wealth." This completion is open to any undergraduate of the college. The essays must be handed in by May 1, 1884, and the awards will be made by the following judges : Prof. Dunbar, Prof. Laughlin and Hon. Hamilton A. Hill.
