The receipts of the Harvard Athletic Association for the past year come to $2756.60. They consist of
Balance of forward from 1883, 378.32
Membership fees and shingles, 579.80
Gate receipts at meetings, 1645.80
Miscellaneous receipts, 153.40
Total, 2756.60
The expenditures for the year amounted to $2653.00 divided roughly as follows:
prizes $445.75
Mott Haven team, 380.00
Printing, 100.00
Repairing track, etc., 150.00
Carpenter, 190.00
Miscellaneous. 387.15
Subscription to new athletic grounds, 1000.00
Total, $2653.00
This leaves a surplus of $103.60 in the treasury. From these figures it may be seen that the net income of the association during the past year amounted to $725.28. For the actual income, disregarding the amount brought forward from 1882, was $23.78.28, while the expenses, not counting the subscription to the new track, amounted to $1653.00, leaving , as I have said, net receipts of $725.28. This gives a promising outlook and will enable the association to repay in less than two years the $1000.00 which it has borrowed of the corporation to aid in the completion of the new athletic grounds.
T. J. COOLIDGE, Treasurer.
