At the lacrosse convention held Saturday evening in New York, the question of an American team to go to Europe next summer was brought up, and it was agreed to meet again early in December when the agent now in Europe making arrangements, would be present. Five hundred dollars has been guaranteed for the expenses of the team, which will be selected from all the clubs in the eastern, middle and southern States.

The awarding of the prizes in the hare and hounds run was worn gly stated in yesterday's issue. It will be as follow: If the hares win, a cup will be given to each hare and to the first hound. If the hounds win, a cup will be given to each of the first two hounds.

The freshman team which plays Exeter today will be composed of the following men: Back, Peabody; halfbacks, Burgess and Cowling; quarterback, Willard; forwards, Fletcher, Cushing, Brooks, Cochranc, Higginson, Fanlkner, Fisk; substitutes, Carroll and Stedman.

At a recent meeting of the trustees of Asbury University of Indiana, an arrangement was effected concerning the endowment of the institution by Mr. W. C. DePauw of New Albany, Ind. Friends of the university are to contribute $120,000, and Mr. DePauw is to give twice that amount in cash donations, and after his death nearly one-half of his property, which amounts to over $2,000,000 is to be added to the endowment. The name of the institution is to be changed to DePauw University, in consideration of that gentleman's liberality.
