A reception was given in Boston last week in honor of Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes, emeritus professor in the Harvard. Medical School. A number of eminent medical men from distant cities, as well as those of Boston and vicinity, were present. Among those asked to meet Dr. Holmes and Dr. Bigelow were Gov. Long, Ex-Gov. Rice, President Eliot, Mayor Green, Hon. Oliver Ames, Judge O. W. Holmes, Jr., and the board of trustees of the Massachusetts General Hospital.
