The strip of ice near Appleton Chapel possesses strange fascination. An observer yesterday noticed forty-six out of fifty men doff their dignity, when they reached that strip, and indulge in a long slide.

The second part of Dr. Snow's "Outline of United States History" is in the hands of the printer and will be issued in about two weeks. The price will be 75 cents; or both parts $2.50. The book is not bound.
