The Young Ladies' Journal states that the most learned woman in the world is a young lady of twenty, now residing in Paris. She is a native of India, and can read and write and talk in twelve languages, having a wonderful gift in that way, besides being well up in mathematics, astronomy and history. She is studying medicine, and will go to India to practice, where she says thousands of her countrywomen die every year because they will not consult male physicians.
