The Crimson misconstrues our meaning entirely by saying that we wish Harvard to enter no contest unless assured of victory. We simply mentioned as one of the reasons why a four-oar crew could not represent Harvard the fact that our boating interests could not be as well represented before the public at large by a four-oar as by an eight, a fact which is recognized by all boating men, and, we think, the college in general.
