The attendance at the gymnasium this year has been marked by a very considerable increase over previous ones. This is doubtless owing to the fact that the importance of regular daily exercise is coming to be realized more and more fully by the members of the university, due in no small degree to the exertions of Dr. Sargent. The effect of the gymnasium work is already beginning to be noticeable in an appearance of increased vigor and strength on the part of the students. Such signs of general improvement cannot but be hailed with satisfaction by all lovers of athletics.
