The fatal fire of Saturday again brought home to all the lamentable inefficiency of the so-called Cambridge Fire Department. The college authorities and students will recognize the necessity of all possible precautions and care when they consider the little protection they can expect from such a body of men, who usually arrive at the scene of the disaster a half-hour after it has begun, and who do not know what to do when they have arrived.
