The spring field meeting of the Columbia College Athletic Association will be held at Mott Haven May 20th. There will be thirteen events. The class games will occur at the same place on the 15th and 16th.

The following colleges will be dropped from the list this year unless they send entries to the coming intercollegiate games: Amherst, Bowdoin, Cornell, Hamilton, College of the City of New York, Trinity, Union, Wesleyan and Williams.

The Ann Arbor seniors have adopted a class hat for the coming season. The Chronicle says of it: "It partakes both of the nature of a hat and a cap, is of blue material, with a gorgeous maize tassel. It has a very feudal look about it, and reminds us much of the head-coverings worn by cardinals in the middle ages. It suits its purpose, however, excellently, and is decidedly original in every respect."

At the foot-ball convention held in New York, Saturday, Eaton was elected president, and Morgan, of Columbia, secretary. A committee of one from each of the four colleges comprising the association was appointed to draw up a constitution. Several changes were made in the rules and it was decided that they should be printed, the college paper making the highest bid to receive the contract. Bids must be in before three weeks. Thus far the preliminary games with professional teams show the Harvards to be the best prepared college team. But playing professional teams, in which the collegians have nothing to lose and everything to win, is a very different thing from playing for the championship, when both sides become unnerved by anxiety in regard to the result, and fail to play in the good form they show against the professionals. The coolest team of the three rivals - Harvard, Yale and Princeton - will win the first game of the series they play together. - [N. Y. World.
