The new hats for the lacrosse team came Wednesday. They are of white flannel, trimmed with red silk ribbon.

The group of the lacrosse team is very good, with the exception of the uniforms, which have taken entirely black.

The study of the different groups of minerals in Chemistry 2 is now finished. The remaining lectures will be devoted to rocks.

On next Wednesday evening Capt. John Codman will lecture to the Finance Society on "The Iniquity of the Protective Tariff," at Sever 11, 7.45 o'clock. All are invited.

The attendance at the gymnasium is still considerable, owing to the inclement weather that has prevailed out doors. Several professors are quite regular in their course of exercise.

There will be no recitation in Greek VII. next Tuesday. The members of the elective are advised to attend the lecture in Greek XI., Monday, at 12 M. The subject will be on the burial of the Greeks, illustrating the funeral oration of Pericles.

The Harvard Chapter of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity had their society dinner at Young's Hotel Wednesday evening. President Burnham, '82, presided. After toasts, responded to by the different members, the oration was delivered by H. E. Barnes, '84, and the poem was read by G. R. Nutter, '85.

Yesterday afternoon the second Harvard lacrosse team beat the Andover team by a score of one goal to nothing. Two goals were fairly made but only one counted on account of a doubt. The playing was close, as the Andover team were in many cases superior runners. The Harvards were handsomely treated by the home team. The finest playing was done on our side by Rueter and Walsh. Marquand acted as referee. Next week the team will probably play two games, both in Cambridge.
