A new Chinese bill to exclude immigration for ten years and to abrogate certain features of the existing treaty was introduced in the House yesterday, as was also another electoral bill. S. P. Rounds of Chicago, the new public printer, will be sworn in today. The nominations of W. A. Hunt as minister to Russia, J. B. Partridge to Peru, J. H. Smythe to Liberia, Wm. Williams to Paraguay, and of J. J. Knox as comptroller, were confirmed.

The first day's session of the American Land League took place in Washington yesterday. Gen. P. A. Collins was elected president. Thirty-two States were represented by delegates. Resolutions were passed demanding the recall of Minister Lowell ; and a-letter condemnatory of Lowell's course was read from Wendell Phillips. Representative W. E. Robinson of New York made a demagogical speech whose chief tenor was the condition of the American eagle, "with its beak filled with Lowell garbage." "But the American eagle had been aroused from her ignoble slumber, and the British lion must quail before her" - and further edifying eloquence of a like sort.
