A most salutary reform in examinations for conditions could be readily introduced by the authorities. At present, a man, who has been so unfortunate as to receive a condition, can only have it removed by an examination during some succeeding year. It is certainly inconvenient, at least, for a man to work up a conditioned subject in connection with other duties. Examinations for removing conditions might be granted in the fall, at the same time with the entrance examinations, and in this way the three months' vacation could be utilized with good results.
