Certain evening lectures and readings are very much disturbed by the systematic tardiness of the audience, who come streaming in during the first five or ten minutes without any respect for the feelings of the lecturer, first of all, as well as of those of the persons already assembled. When an hour is posted for a reading it is everybody's duty to be on time or stay away, and not to prove a public nuisance by coming into a room in the middle of the evening, and then deliberately climbing down to the seats farthest removed from the door, as some will persist in doing.
